"I feel profoundly lucky to have had both a very secure early attachment
to my parents and to have a wonderful and fulfilling marriage. I do feel
like there is a fair amount of luck involved (an unfair amount
perhaps). I didn't pick my parents and although my husband and I picked
each other, we were both young and naive. We had no idea what we were
really getting in to. I sometimes feel like it was the smartest decision
I have ever made to marry the person I did, but really, I know that's
like congratulating yourself for picking the right lottery number."
